With a campaign election fund already at $10,000 Elinor Scricca is poised to add another 4 years of service to her 8 already served on the Lee County School Board. Scricca occupies seat number 5 on the board. We asked her a few questions about the upcoming race.
Why did you decide to run for another term?
To continue in my service to the School District and the achievements that have already been accomplished regarding student progress, budgetary concerns, and curriculum.
What are the top 3 issues facing the school district over the next 4 years?
1. Finances
2. Program Opportunities for Students
3. Student Achievement
What do you expect to see happen to taxes over the next 5 years?
I would hope that there would not be any increase in taxes; however, it is very difficult to project over the next five years what might happen. My position is no increase in taxes.
Do you believe there is enough parent participation in the education of their children?
Regretfully, no. We always pursue, as a Board, more parent involvement. As research indicates, the greater the parent involvement, the greater the student achievement. It is recognized; however, that during these economic times, it is difficult for parents to be as involved as they would wish.
What one or two things can the school board improve on over the next 4 years?
Teamwork

WHAT THE ONE THING THE SCHOOL BOARD CAN DO TO IMPROVE THIS DISTRICT IS FOR SCRICCA, TUEBER, DOZIER, KNUCKLE RESIGN.
ReplyDeleteNUMBER TWO GET RID OF JAMES BROWDER.
SCRICCA, TUEBER, DOZIER, KNUCKLE NEED TO LEAVE THE BOARD AND TAKE BROWDER WITH THEM.

Elinor get real..
She voted to raise taxes just last September and has done little to fix the bloated bus budget. Sounds like her current position is disingenuous at best, but more likely, it's another big fat lie. Check out her original 2002 campaign promises on ZoomInfo.com -- looks like Browder pulls her puppet strings these days. What a major flip-flopper she turned out to be!
ReplyDeleteHow old is she? She can barely walk without assistance. Have you ever seen her in person? I wonder how "fit" she is for the job...
ReplyDeleteShe's been absent from so many board meetings she'd get an F for attendance in my class!
ReplyDeleteWith the support shown by the above comments, she should withdraw!
ReplyDeleteHow can she say her position is "no increase in taxes" when she's voted every time to increase our taxes?! Either she's stupid and doesn't understand what taking a "position" means, or she's a liar, or she's freakin' senile.
ReplyDeleteSaw Elinor at a recent Republican event. Really sad -- she could hardly walk and her speech made no sense. Then she talked about her past, saying she'd been a Republican all her life. NOT the case. There's nothing wrong in changing parties if you change your views, but I have BIG problem with a candidate who lies about it.
